Kenny Wollenson, Gene Lake, and..........Steve Holmes
Derek - I was refr'g to mainly the part on 1 of the clips [cant rem which exact one ], where he's soloing over that "Sting/Send Your Love"-type-hits/vamp...
But i hear an overall VC inflection at times...of course, not like the master, but good nevertheless
----------------------
Ditto on Holmes, the guy we were talking about above in DDF's link, Tombo, & Pedro Galindo...Derek's a player, & blake does some nice saucy jazzy work too...Roy C's a player...dig Pete C's latin flavor, too...then there's Tom H...& i like FlamT's adrenaline/testosterone metal!...there are many others in here AW [already stated b4]

I definitely think this guy that no one knows about but has monster chops and an amazing groove thing happening is the most underated drummer of all time. His name is ........ Vince Colaiuta. He hasn't really played on a lot of stuff but if you look carefully you can find samples of his amazing sick playing. And man, if you get the chance to see him play live......then you know you've lived a full life.

what ever happened to Pete Zeldman ... his solo CD is pretty amazing
And of course... How could we forget....
Yes... That's him.... The one whom Neil Peart borrowed one or two tricks from.... The one and only...
Barrrrriemore Barrrrrlow!!!! <marquee> </marquee>
Some of the London session guys are killer: Yanto, Ralph Salmins, Harold Fisher, Chris Dagley etc.
Now there you go.
There's some heavy cats in 'Manytown[s]' across the world that go 'unnoticed by large'... me, for instance... J/K Except when i glance in a mirror from time to time..& then i wish i wouldve "remained unnoticed"...

alex gonzalez and tommy igoe
Alex Gonzalez is the drummer for the mexican band Mana...they have an mtv unplugged dvd with luis conte on percussion and him and luis conte perform a cool duet! That whole dvd has excellent drumming
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">A student of mine lend me a bunch of music DVDs, and yesterday I picked Styx Return to Paradise. I had always found John Panozzo to be a pretty average/boring drummer and thought he was still alive at the time. So I was listening with only half an ear when the drums caught my attention. Hey, John was in shape that night!, I thought. But looking carefully, it was not John but an unknown (for me) kickass drummer.Quote:

Todd's name is not featured anywhere on the DVD, not even on the Band or credits sections. I knew he was in Styx now but not back then. Great player for sure!
Yes, John did a solid job & was good for the style of Styx & the time period...but TS really puts a boot in the rythmic a** / adds "new tricks to an old dog"...very UR.
Ditto on Igoe, Almond, Hoenig, Lake, & Barrie, AW.
WTH - AGAIN: TLC, Bill Stewart, Jeff Ham, J Ballard, A Cruz, A Sanchez, Hass, Wertico, Z Hussein, Trilok, Tom Campbell [sorry, Teeb! ], & D Gottlieb...
I would also add Enzo Todesco to the list AW, again. To some drummers, he's well-known; but to John/Jane Q. Public...he slams some serious mule on that live Vanelli Montreal.
...and here i swore to m'self i wasnt gonna post here again. Yeah, rie-yeet.
